wooooooooohoooooooooooooo we've had Mr sunshine out all weekend here in Glasgow. 

 It's been a long time coming too but it's been great to get out in the garden and enjoy it.  Long may it last:)

Here's my creation.  I've gone for 1 down, brads, buttons and die cuts.

How cute is this little fella?  I needed a 1st birthday card, well a few of them actually for Saturday and thought he was perfect.  Once I'd him coloured with copics I couldn't resist adding those googley eyes inside his sun specs.  I've made sure they're well secured though and I'll also tell Mum not to let him play just to be sure.

Papers are from Echo Park, Sidewalk Chalk range.  I've been buying quite a bit of these recently especially when they sell for $1 on a Wednesday.  Who doesn't love a bargain?

A first for me

Morning girls
ohhhhhhhhhhh I can't wait to see what you think of this.  I've spent the past few days making this on and off and am really pleased with how it turned out.  Billy's niece is getting married soon so rather than a card I thought I'd have a little bash at a wedding cake.

I've used the Arty Farty template
(me very good friend lent
me hers) but adapted it it suit my own needs.  Rather than all the little boxes for gifts I made the bottom one properly to give it overall strength then the other layers I just made the lids with an extra piece all around which I scrored, folded and glued in place.   Then I added some lace and set about doing the flowers.  Her theme is blue and white so I'd to shop around for the blue lace which luckily I found easily, the flowers I had in me stash anyway. I wanted them to look as though they were trailing down the front of the cake and over the edge.
Think I achieved it:)   Hope she likes it!

Morning girls

Another weekend has been and gone and still not a sign of Mr Sunshine.  It's so bleeding depressing getting up every morning to the horrible drizzly weather we're getting here in Scotland.  I'm not asking for much, just a few nice days to get out and about whilst feeling the heat of the sun on me back!!  Alas it's wellies and macs for much of the time and looks like it's the same old same old today too.

Would you believe I coloured me image with copics  then couldn't find purple papers.  Lots of lilacs and the like but nowt purple.  I'd to dig really deep to find these old Provocraft ones that I'd had since the year dot!!!

Back with my second card of the day.  This time it's my DT card for the Poodles Parlour.

 I decided to make an a5 sized card for a wee change and used 'Computer Girl' from Karen's Doodles which I coloured as usual with copics.   Perfect for any teenage girls isn't she? Morning girls

It's been raining cats and dogs here for most of the weekend, it's been cold too.  So all in all it's been pretty miserable.  

We did go to the Glasgow Mela yesterday in Kelvingrove Park but it was sodden, such a shame too as obviously a lot of planning had gone into it.  Everyone was soaked through but it didn't dampen the atmosphere too much.  There's no accounting for the Scottish weather though, that's for sure. 

I also finally got to meet one of me blogging buddies Lorraine, she was beavering away helping the kids create a masterpiece or two.  It was lovely to meet you at long last:) 

So, seeing as it's Monday that means it's time for another challenge over on Karen's Doodles and this week our theme is

You'll need to excuse the rubbish pic this morning because try as I might I couldn't get the image to focus properly.  Hubby bought me an all singing, all dancing point and shoot 16.1 mega pixel camera a couple of weeks ago but I'm not so sure it does what it says on the tin.  Some pics are great and others, like this one are garbage.  So much for auto focus!

Anyway, rant over.

Morning girls

I'm hoping for another dry one today.  I've almost got the garden weeded and looking ship shape at last.  I've been sorely tempted to grass the lot and be done with it.  It's been so wet here these past few summers it really doesn't make for a decent flower filled garden but I shall soldier on and hope for the best once again.

Well the sun is peeping out a little already so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a dryish day here again so I can finally finish weeding the garden.  It's been a right sorry state recently with all the rain we've had here.  So you can guess what I'll be doing later today.  I'd much rather do some crafting but needs must lol

sad news for Creative Cottage

Evening girls
That's me jollies over for another few months.  The weather was a little hit and miss the first week but it didn't stop us getting out and about too much. I just wish we could stay longer than a fortnight:(
Here's a couple of pics taken when we were out and about.

It's time to pass the Amber Ink Torch

Morning girls
If you can read this then Mr Blogger is behaving himself today and has posted nicely for me whilst I get in some rays:)

Unfortunately it's time for me to pass the lovely Pink Torch over to a new gal today and set her off and running.  

A mahoosive thanks to Mandi who passed her Pink Torch Torch to me.  

Before I tell you about my replacement though I'd like to thank Amber and Pam for having me this month and of course allowing me to play with the fab Amber Ink images.  I've had a ball running with that Pink Torch and will look forward to seeing what my lovely replacement creates too.  
I guess your really itching to know now aren't you?  Well I've kept it a secret long enough so I suppose the time is right now:)
