live, laugh, party

Morning girls
It's another damp, dismal one here in Glasgow.  Nothing new there then eh?  One of these morning I'll waken to brilliant sunshine!!  Well a girl can dream can't she?  We've had it all this weekend, from torrential downpours to bright sunshine all the while a wind that would cut you in two!  All seasons in one day!!

It's time for a new challenge over on Karen's Doodles and this week our theme is

FANCY FOLDS

Now it's been years since I've made on of these cards.  Don't ask me why this shape popped into me head but it did and I must say I quite enjoyed putting it together:) I even managed to get some decent pics despite the weather.  My last few have been terrible which makes the cards look bad too although this bottom one could've been a bit better.

I've used two of Karen's newest images on this card.  Beat the Heat on the front and  Boating Fun on the inside, both of them available from the store.
Coloured with copics, prisma pencils and I tried on of the new techniques Zoe and her team are showing over on Make It Crafty which is to use a white gel pen to add water droplets although I'm not quite sure I managed it successfully lol. Papers are from Pink Petticoat, sentiment is Sparkle n Sprinkle and the other bits and bobs are from me stash.
So, that's my effort, do pop over to the challenge blog for some more fabulous inspiration from the other Doodle Divas, even better, why not play along for the chance to win some of these fab images.
Thanks for stopping by Anne x

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm marshmallows

Morning girls

It's dark, dismal and wet here in Glasgow.  I think we've had our summer:(  Mr Sunshine has most definitely not got his hat on, a mac and brolly would be more appropriate, oh and some wellies too.  It depresses the life out of me, I hate dank, dark days but what can you do eh?
Anyway, being Friday it's time for a new challenge over on Totally Papercrafts.

FOOD and DRINK

and it's time for our monthly sponsorship from Meljen's Designs too

the lucky winner will get to choose 4 of their fab digi images

So, another Christmas card for me box is made as I just loved this image.  I could quite happily have a few sips of that creamy hot chocolate right now:)
I've coloured as usual with copics, the papers I think are Imaginisce, they're left overs from last year so am being a good little crafter and using up me stash too:)  Sentiment is from Sparkle n Sprinkle and the brads are also left overs from last years Christmas bits and bobs.
So that's my effort for this week girls, do pop by my teamies for some gorgeous eye candy and bucket loads of inspiration, oh, and remember to play along too:)
Thanks for dropping in,have a smashing weekend

rain rain go away

Hi girls
I've the perfect card for the weather today.  It's raining cats and dogs here in Glasgow with no sign of it going off either so I'd a wee play with Tlida in the Spring Rain.

Isn't she cute all wrapped up against the weather?  I've coloured with copics and paper pieced her clothes with the same Dovecraft papers as I've used on the card.  The big flower brad is also Dovecraft, ribbon and smaller brads are from me stash.
So, that's my effort from this morning.  Best go and get on with some DT work now.
Thanks for popping in and keep safe if your in any of the area where there are riots:(

button it

Morning girls
What was with the grotty weather all weekend?  It was horrid here in Glasgow, especially yesterday, it rained on and off the whole day.  Still it let me me get in front a little with my DT cards and I even got as far as printing and starting to colour a few other images which hopefully will find their way onto some cards this week.
Anyway enough of the waffle.  Seeing as it's Monday that means it's time for me and my teamies to set you a new challenge over on Karen's Doodles and it's a nice easy one too.
We'd like to see some
BUTTONS & BOWS

I've used Bovine Beauty for my card this week.  I think she's one of my absolute favourites of Karen's images but you'll need to excuse the rubbish pic.  It was so dark and dismal here yesterday this was the best of  over twenty believe it or not.  I was pulling my hair out in the end grrrrrrrrrrr.
Coloured with copics, papers are Echo Park, dew drops, ribbon and button from me stash.

challenges:
Card Cupids - buttons and/or ribbon
Sparkles Forum - one for the girls
Crafts and Me - anything goes

Are you hanging up your stockings yet?

Morning girls
Thanks for popping in.  I did have my post all typed and ready to go when Mr Blogger threw a wobbly on me and I lost the lot so now your getting the shortened version:)
Friday means it's time for a new challenge on Totally Papercrafts where our theme this week is

HOLIDAYS
Our sponsor is Karen's Doodles and the lucky winner gets to choose three images.

I decided to go with Christmas.  Well, why not take the chance to get another one into me box eh?
I've taken CAS to the extreme with this one.  Baubles were cut on my cricut and a load of glitter added to the bows.  I then cut three two inch circles, sized the little stockings to fit and once they'd been coloured with my copics I cut them out and pop dotted them in place.  A multitude of flock and glitter was then added to their tops.  Job done!!
So, that's my effort for this week girls, do pop over to the challenge blog for loads more inspiration from my lovely teamies:)
challenges:
Cute Card Thursday - no patterned papers
Paperplay - Christmas in August
Do It With Digi's - Christmas in August

need for speed

Evening girls
I'd a little play this afternoon and managed a wee card for a couple of challenges.  Seems like forever
since I made something just because.......................

The image is Kenny K, coloured with copics and a little diamond glaze on the car headlights.  The papers are part of a scrapbook kit from Summer Driggs.  I opened them with my graphics programme and added the flashes (is that what you call them?) before printing them out.    It worked quite well I think since the same sort of design is on the car anyway.  Brads are ancient and from me stash.
challenges:-
Kenny K - add metal
Cards for Men - clean and simple
Craft your Passion - anything goes
Papertake Weekly -  anything goes

Morning girls
Happy Monday:)  Did you all have a sooper dooper weekend, enjoy plenty R&Rand have a few cold ones?
We've had smashing weather here all week, just for a change.  It's usually persisting itr down here in Glasgow so it's been lovely to have a few days spent outside.
Anyway it's time for a new challenge over on Karen's Doodles and this week our theme is

RECYCLE IT

I decided to make a tag for a change, it's a bit on the big side to use though lol
I recycled the blue card from some packaging and the button from me Mum's box.  She has loads of them, I think some of them were probably me Grans there that old.
I've used one of the newer images Cannonball, isn't it fab!  I coloured with copics as usual, waves and sun were cut on my cricut and the sentiment was pc generated.  A couple of ribbons from me stash finished it off.

challenges:
Craft 4 Eternity - anything but a card
Sew Many Cards - anything goes
Stamp Something - summer fun

Less is More

Where's Mr Sunshine go?  We've had glorious weather here in Glasgow for the past few days but this morning the sun has done a runner and we're back to the wet stuff:(  It's supposed to be nice over the weekend again so I'm keeping me fingers and toes crossed.
It's ages since I've played along with Mandi and Chrissy over on Less is More but I'd a wee play with some rub ons last night and this is the result.

I think the lettering would've looked a bit better more to the left of the card looking at it now but last night the aim was to centre it from the ribbon.  Hindsight is a wonderful thing ain't it lol.  The challenge this week is to use buttons or ribbon, as you can see
I've used both but I think it works......... will they? (grin)

Power Shower

Morning girls
Have you been over to Karen's Doodles challenge blog yet this morning to welcome our new Doodles Princesses.  Boy we'd some fantastic entries, it's such a shame we couldn't have more girls on the team.
Anyway, this week we'd like you to play bingo with us.
Choose a line in any direction and create your card.

I've gone with the top line across, buttons, ribbon and flowers although I've cheated a wee bit and
used floral ric rac.

What do you think of this new image of Karen's.  It's called 'Beat the Heat'  Cute or what?  I couldn't wait to colour it over the weekend.  I used prisma pencils blended with mineral spirits and a dash of sakura glaze pens on the flowers
of Rosie's dress.  The papers are Pink Petticoat and the ricrac was from me stash.
So that's my effort for this week girls.
I do hope you play along with us as it's always nice to see how you interpret our themes.

Paper Sundeas - Summer or beach
2 Sisters - anything goes
Crafty Emma - humourous

A present for you

Good morning girls
Another week nearer Christmas (groans) and another Christmas card for me box.
I just had to buy this little cutie patootie as soon as I saw it.  He's from Wee Stamps latest release.  If you've not been over for a peep yet girls then your missing out.  Sylvia's new images are all gorgeous!!!

I printed the image twice so I could pop dot the litte bear, I wanted him to stand out from the pressies.  Coloured as usual with copics, loads of stickles and some flock on his hat.  Once I'd mounted the image on the backing die I then pop dotted that too so it really is a lovely dimensional card.
Papers are from Memory Box, left over from last year, a few snowflakes and a sentiment from Sparkle n Sprinkle and the card was done.
I'm also entering this into the DT call over on Cheery Lynn Designs girls so wish me luck.
I've me fingers, legs and eyes crossed for this one:)
challenges:
Polka Doodles - Christmas in July
Your Next Stamp - recipe - 2 papers, 1 image, 3 embellies

Look who's 1

Morning girls
I can't believe it's been a week since we'd our last challenge on Totally Papercrafts but alas yes, tis Friday and time for a nice shiney new challenge.  Since we'd the girls last week we thought we'd give the boys a turn.
So this week our challenge is

ONE FOR THE BOYS

I confess this card was made a few weeks ago when I needed a first birthday card.  Just as well too as me mojo hasn't exactly been playing along lately:(

Jings, I can't even remember the name of the papers lol.  I think they're Pink Paislee.  Image is from Karen's Doodles, Thank You Boy set.  I added the sentiment before I printed the image which I've coloured with copic markers.  The inspiration for this actually came from little Matthew himself.  His Dad had printed out an a4 sheet with Happy 1st Mother's Day on it and taken a pic of him holding it in front of himself just like this. So I thought this was just perfect for his birthday.

challenges:
My Time To Craft - citrus colours
KB Cute Monday - use a digi
Birthday Sundaes - anything goes

21 today

Hi girls
Just popping in quickly to show you the card I made for my DD who is 21 today:)
It certainly doesn't seem that long since she was a babe in arms who became a little monster and then blossomed into a beautiful young lady:)

I've seen a few of these easel cards around but this is my first attempt at it and over all I'm pleased with it.  She loves it which is the main thing. She's not at all girlie, hence the plain Bazill card stock, even putting the flowers on had me cringing lol.

The image is from Make it Crafty, isn't she gorgeous?
It took me an age to colour her hair with me copics although I followed one
of Zoe's fabulous tuts and got there in the end. Ive really seen an improvement in my work since
I've been a member of her site.  Thanks Zoe:)
I wasn't sure how the other girls made the little cake but I used an old ribbon reel and a spellbinders die.
It worked fine and is sturdy too so hopefully it won't fall to bits lol.

challenges:
Make it Colourful - pleats and folds
i copic - Birthdays
Lollipop Crafts - anything goes
Paper Creators' Crafts - special occassion
Digital Tuesday - use your dies

Summer Fun

Morning girls
It's time for a new challenge on Karen's Doodles and this week our theme is

SUMMER FUN

I started by cutting our the shapes with my nesties to make a shaped easerl card.  It's alot smaller than I would normally make but I'm pleased with it.  This is 'On The Road Again', one of Karen's new summer images.  Isn't it fab!!!  You'll find this and some other new ones over at her store
I've coloured with my usual copic markers apart from the sky which I did with prisma pencils
and blended with mineral spirits. The papers are from Safrass Lass.
I cut a  few flowers with my cricut to help it stand and left it at that.  I did look at adding some embellies but it did nothing for the card so in the end I left them off.
That's my effort for this week girls.  Do pop over and see the wonderful cards the other girls on the DT have created this week and don't forget our DT call is running until 20th July.

challenges:
Dream Valley - summer
2 Sisters - summer fun

Hi girls
This is my second post today so if your looking for the Totally Papercrafts challenge please scroll down:)

My card this time is for our new challenge on The Poodles Parlour

A BIRD'S EYE VIEW

How cute is this little fella? You can find him and some more cuties over at Jacqui's store.
I've used Dovecraft papers again for this one, I really like the soft shades on this set. Even did a bit of stitching on this too, albeit not very straight lol.  I cut the bird cage and stand from the Serenade cricut cart, added some glitter and popped the little bird inside.  Prima flowers, ribbon, some beads and a button from me stash completed the look.
Do pop over to the challenge blog for some more gorgeous cards from the other girls on the DT and don't forget to play along too:)

BIG D

Morning girls
Well we've the wet stuff again today. I knew it was too good to last.  Mr Sunshine doesn't keep his hat on very long here in Scotland:(
Anyway, I don't often show any commissioned cards on me blog but I thought I'd show you  this one.  The brief was 'It's for a male named Big D' who dresses like a cowboy and will be 70.  The mind boggles!!!  Do you get asked for silly things too?  Or is it just my luck?
Straight away I thought of this image from Karen's Doodles, then I remembered that Tracy did a little cowboy set when she's Creative Cottage, perfect!  I was sorted easier than I thought I'd be:)

I wanted a distressed feel to it so inked the edges of all the papers and backers.  Once I'd that all sorted I cut the the letter with my cricut, added the tiled letter on top and I'd the basis of my card.  Once I'd coloured the image with my copcis I pop dotted him on, added the sentment, bashed a couple of metal snaps up a bit and the job was done.
I'm quite happy with how it turned out.  I just hope Big D whoever he is likes it too:)
