Morning girls
My wee Mum will be celebrating her 70th birthday this weekend so I thought I'd show you the
card I've made for her.   I've used this gorgeous lady from Clarity Stamps.  I love the elegance of this one.
I stamped her with brown ink rather than black, coloured her with copics and pop dotted her hat for some added depth.

Now, a few days ago I was lucky enough to receive some MIC paper for using with copics, or any alcohol based pens for that matter.  Can I just say that the jury is out on this paper:(  I'm not best pleased with the results I've achieved with it.  Whether or not I need some more practise with it I'm not sure but I much prefer the card I've been using which is 300gms from my local stationer, I get better results.  Anyhoooo just thought I'd share that with ya!
The papers are from (?) yip, I'd a 12x12 sheet in me stash but it had no name on the back so your guess is as good as mine where it's from lol.  Brads, ribbon and lace are also from me stash.  I've left this quite simple, just adding a couple of flowers to embellish as me  Mum is not a fussy person at all.
So, that's my card for today, thanks for popping in:)

my favourite five

glitter graphics

Are you all ready and waiting for the bells to ring out? Is the mad rush to have everything spic and span still going strong? Or are you chilled and good to go? I'm almost there although to be honest it's not my favourite time of year. Don't know why really but I can take it or leave it:)
Anyway the lovely Debby is at it again. This time she's offering some candy if we show our favourite five cards from 2010!!! How on earth we're to choose only five I'll never know but, off I trawled through me blog and before I change me mind here's mine in no particular order either lol

So, are you playing along? I must admit it's been quite a learning curve looking back through a years cards. Some of my earlier stuff is yuk!!! Isn't amazing how practise makes almost perfect (wink)
Have a smashing New Year girls, all the best for 2011:)

Bling It On

Morning girls
Another weekend is upon us and another week closer to Christmas. I'm trying not to think about it lol
Anyway Friday is the day we have a brand new challenge over on Totally Papercrafts and it's the lovely Mel who got to set the theme for us and she want to see some bling on your creations.

BLING IT ON

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh and wait till you see the gorgeous stamp she's chosen
for you from our sponsor this week

I wish I could enter myself!!! Isn't this just the bees knees, I love it:)

So, here's my contribution for this week. I've not used this one for ages. It's from Clarity Stamps and she is an absolute dream to colour. As usual I've used my copic markers, highlighted here and there with a touch of prisma pencils for a bit more depth of colour. I'm still a bit wary of the blacks lol. Papers are from Doodlebug, a 12x12 sheet that's been laying in my stash since the year dot. I've kept the layout pretty simple, I pleated up some ribbon, punched some flowers to which I added some dew drops (coloured with copics to match) and a few bits of bling to finish off.
So, who want to win that gorgeous stamp? I'll look forward to seeing your take on the theme this week. Happy crafting, have a great weekend girls

a few challenges just for fun

Happy Sunday girls
It seems like an age since I made a card just for the heck of it and as I'd a chance to play yesterday I thought I'd have a bash at the Simon Says' challenge Shabby Chic!! Not at all my thing but once I got going I quite liked the effect lol

This fabby lady is a Clarity stamp, I've a couple of these and don't use them nearly enough but she's just right for the shabby look isn't she? Papers are from Funky Fairys, the ribbon and flowers are from me stash. I've chalked the edges of everything with some pink and brown chalk, basically I just sort of went with the flow. All in all I'm quite pleased with this one:)

2. - Allsorts - pink and brown colour scheme
3. Cupcake Crafts - going girlie

Tres chic

Good evening girls
Just a quick post tonight as this old pc is almost ready to give up the ghost I think. We're still fighting with Acer over me other pc, six months old and it's b£$$%ed!!!! but I won't go there:(

I followed the sketch this week over on Sketch Saturday, loved it as soon as I saw it and it fitted well with a card I'd been asked to make too. So two birds with one stone always wins in my book lol.
The papers are from Costco, yes, I've still loads of these left bit I must admit I do like them. The image is Clarity Stamps I just wish I could do with these stamps what Barbara does with them though!!!! All finished off with some flowers from me stash.

Monochrome Madness with Creative Card Crew

Good afternoon girlies
It's dull, dull, dull here today!! I thought perhaps some of the lovely weather we've had over the holiday weekend would have stayed around a wee bit longer but alas it's not to be.
Anyway, onto the card for the challenge this week on Creative Card Crew. The theme is monochrome so I got to play with one of my lovely ladies from Clarity Stamps. I've kept it fairly simple, just a cuttlebugged background and very simple matting and layering coloured with a mix of promarkers and sakura stardust pens. A few brads and a bit of ribbon to finish her off and hey presto!!! A card. the first for a few days lol

A couple of challenges

Happy Thursday girlies.
I've the dreaded dentist for a filling this morning so am all set and ready to go. Luckily I don't mind too much but I do hate the numbness in my mouth afterwards.
Here's my card for today. It covers two challenges this week, thank goodness. I'm finding it difficult to keep up with them all:)
I followed the yummy sketch on Truly Scrumptious for this card, I really like this layout although I think I need to redo the greeting. It looks a bit on the big side now I'm looking at it here:(
Secondly it's Cupcake Craft Challenges Brown plus 1 is this weeks theme. The plus 1 being either pink, blue or Green. As you can see I've gone with the pink:)
Now, this is the other lady I bought at the SECC, threw the bag out and don't know who makes the stamps. (Lorraine - any ideas???) I'm soooooooo mad at myself as there were lots more gorgeous stamps to get me crafty paws on. Plus I love the little handles on them, it makes it so easy to stamp the image cleanly. Papers are from Costco and the ribbon and brads are from my stash.
Happy Crafting girlies

Isn't she elegant

Good afternoon girlies.
It's been a horrid day here in Glasgow. One minute we have snow and sleet, the next bright sunshine and a bitterly cold wind. Never mind, I'm quite happy locked away in my craft room making a mess lol
I went to the SECC yesterday (a last minute decision) and bought this beautiful stamp. Well I bought three of them actually but this is the only one I've played with so far. Now to the problem bit. I stuffed everything into the one bag and don't know who they're made by. They're mounted onto an acrylic block with a handle on but no name. So if anyone recognises her please let me know as there were loads of others that I'd like lol
I'd an order for a Mother's Day card and though she would be perfect so followed the sketch on Friday Sketchers which is sponsored by the Cutting Cafe this week and the lovely sketch by Mumur de france. I loved this layout and will definitely use it again.
Don't forget to check out the candy on my sidebar girlies:)
Hugs
