o'er it's not a card

Morning girls
I've something different, well for me anyway, to show you this today.
I've decided I'm going to make some things other than cards this year and first on my list is a calendar or two which I can use as gifts come next Christmas. That's the plan anyway:)

So since the new challenge over on Crafty Sentiments Designs today is WINTER FUN I thought I'd get a page done.  November 2014 lol.  Nothing like getting ahead is there?

snowflake -  Dies to Die For - Winter Jewel
cricut - Base Camp and Joys of the Seasons carts
sentiment - pc generated
calendar - freebie from web (forgot to save the link)
copics

I'm quite pleased with how this turned out.  Not much different from making a card really but something a little different as I said.  Only eleven more pages to go:)
Thanks for popping in.  I've a card to show you too but I'll pop that in another post soon.

Happy New Year and a challenge

Morning girls
I'm hoping Mr Blogger plays nice this morning and posts this for me as no doubt I'll still be in the land of nod. .We are bringing in the bells at the Chop House Brasserie in Glasgow's Merchant Square hence this schedulled post.  So...

Wishing you all a healthy, happy and peaceful 2013

Have you made any resolutions yet?
Mine is to stop buying papers.  I've slowly but surely been using up my stash so I can by digital from now on.  I'm needing the space in the craft room and there are so many fabby digital papers out there now that I don't think it'll be a hard one to keep to.  We'll see though eh?

Would you believe I've a card for you too?
Yes, it's the first challenge of the year over on Crafty Sentiments Designs challenge and seeing as it's a brand new year we'd love to see your creations celebrating something new.

I decided on a 'New Baby' card using Baby Luke

Is he cute? Or is he cute?
I've kept the card plain and simple as I didn't want the eye distracted from the image therefor kept the embellies to a minimum but I think it works:)
ingredients:
image and sentiment - Crafty Sentiments Designs
papers - Sassy Designs
Marianne Designs
Spellbinders
baby's rattle - cricut - New Arrival cart
ribbon and gems - stash

Oh don't forget there's also a sale on over at Crafty Sentiments Designs  store

So that's my inspiration for you today girls.  Hope the hang overs aren't too bad lol.  When I finally manage out of bed I'll be off out again to wish me Mum and Dad all the best for the coming year and then it's a family dinner back here.  Joy of joys eh?  Enjoy what's left of the festivities and  if you can't be good then that makes two of us:)

What's in the sack?

Morning girls
...from a dark, dull, dreary Glasgow.  Winter is here!!  Autumn seems to have passed us by altogether, no nice crisp mornings, just slap bang freezing rain and winds with a chill factor that feels like zero degrees:(  I'm going to hibernate in me little craft room all weekend and keep warm and snug.
I may pop out on Saturday to watch that rubbish that is the X Factor though.  Fingers crossed that horrid Rylan with all his dramatics gets the boot this week.
Then again since I won the lovely Jacqui's candy I may just spend the day drooling over on Wild Orchid crafts and fill me basket.  Thanks so much Jacqui I'll enjoy spending:)
So onto my card for the day.  It's for the new challenge on Totally Papercrafts and the theme this week is

CHRISTMAS - 9 WEEKS AND COUNTING

Is it really that close??  Eekkk I'd better get the shopping started. I've not a thing in yet:(

Our sponsor for this week is
and here's my card
No, this is not for my hubby.  It's actually a commission so I killed two birds with one stone as the deets were to make it a 'wee bit raunchy'

ingredients:
image - Kenny K
papers - First Edition
snowflake - Whimsy
border - Ribbons and Rosettes cart
ponsiettas - Joys of the Season cart
brad - WOC
stickles and white glitter to her cuffs
seeds beads and ribbon from me stash

I coloured her up with Flex markers.  The jury is till out on these I'm afraid.  I do like the ease of colouring with them but I don't find they blend as well as the copics and I find they have a tendancy to bleed but I shall keep at it with them.  Practice makes perfect as they say!
So, there's my effort for this week girls.  Don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog, especially if you played along last week.  You could be the lucky winner of those fab digi's from Redonkulas:)
Happy crafting and have a smashing weekend.

BOO

Morning girls
Gosh the week seems to have flown in.  I can't believe it's already Friday.  I can't say I've been super busy either so am pleasantly surprised that the weekend is once again upon us.  More crafty time for me!!!!
My card this morning is for the new challenge on Totally Papercrafts.
The lovely Susan has chosen our theme this week and she's like to see creations with

NO SQUARES OR RECTANGLES
Easy peasy!!

Our sponsor

...and my card.

No stamping or colouring from me this week.
I used my Expression with the Wild Card cart:)  I really don't use my cutting machine enough.  Dies seem to have taken over:(   Anyone else the same?  It's a shame really, as when you look through the manuals there is so much they can be used or.  I guess I'm just too lazy to look lol
Anyway, that's my little bit of inspiration for you today.
Have a smashing weekend

Morning girls
Happy Friday:)  Have any of you got anything nice planned for the weekend?  We've not although we seem to be a bit 'just go with the flow' most weekends so anything can happen.
Anyway, today starts a new challenge over on Totally Papercrafts and the theme this week is...

MONOCHROMATIC

Yip, let's see those shades of one colour only apart from your skin tones and hair

Our sponsor for this week is

Birthday Girl

Hi girls
We've another bright, warm one here in Glasgow, not much in the way of sunshine these past two days but at least it's dry.
It's time for another challenge over on Karen's Doodles UK and this week we've kept it nice and simple. Let's see those birthday cards!!! Don't forget though that you must use a Karen's Doodles image on your creation.

I decided to make a little plaque rather than a card. No reason in particular, I was just playing around really but I must admit I'm rather chuffed with it:) This is one of Karen's older images 'Fairy Fun' but I just love her cute little face and thought she was just right for this project. You can buy her and many more just as cute here
I've not a clue about the papers, I found one sheet of 12x12 under an ever growing pile. I covered two pieces of chipboard then sandwiched them together with the lace in between. I then cut the letters with my cricut from another piece, coloured them with my copics and added some Diamond Glaze. The image as usual is coloured with copics and pop dotted for added dimension. I'd a little scrap of paper left over so I cut the flowers and butterfly from it and pop dotted them too. Job done!!!

challenges:
Pollycraft - birthday
Papertake Weekly - cutie patootie
Incy Wincy - alter something (hope this counts)
Digital Tuesday - happy birthday

anyone for snorkeling

Morning girls
Hope you've all had a smashing weekend. Isn't this weather the bees knees, long may it continue I say:) A little sunshine sure does lift the mood.
I've spent the weekend colouring some images and finally got around to putting a card together last night with the finishing touches being added this morning.
This is Fun In The Pool by Karen's Doodles, cute or what? Wish I'd a little pool to cool off in, yes, even a little paddling pool like that would've done these past few days.

The papers are a digi set from Creative Cottage. I love all these bright funky colours, just right for summer time cards. The image is coloured with my usual copic markers and I've finished the card off with a few 'toys' cut with my cricut and some buttons.

Paperplay - it's sunny here

Gramps will fix it

Hi Girls
It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new challenge over on Karen's Doodles UK. Are you all ready to play along? I hope so as we've another fantastic challenge for you this week.
We'd like to see some tags on your creations. Feel free to make a tag, a card with a tag, a little gift with a tag - you get me drift. Suit yourself, just so long as you have a Karen's Doodles image and a tag then your good to go.

This is Mr Fix It Grampa. How cool is that huge moustache? bet that tickles lol
Anyway, believe it or not I couldn't tell you what these papers are. Some are from me bits box and the stripey one I found a loose 12x12 sheet lurking beneath my pile that I never seem to use up. I've used the usual copic markers for colouring, do we ever use anything else? Then I cut three little tags with my cricut, fastened them on with some brads and added the little tools. I bought a loads of things like this yonks ago, one of those must haves that don't get used but they sure came in handy for this card.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to play along this week

challenges:-
One Stop Crafts - one for the boys
Crafty Cardmakers - cards for men
Paperplay - something old

New releases and a sketch challenge

Morning girls
It's release day over on Digital Delights!! Hurry on over and check out Wendy's fab new images, perfect for all those summer time cards you'll be making.
It's also time for another sketch challenge with us over at Delightful Sketches & Challenges

and we've a fabulous sponsor too

Meet Bumble Bee Larry. How cute is this little fella? I've coloured him with my usual copic markers and added a little stickles to his wings just for some added sparkle. I cut the flower with my cricut, run it through my cuttlebug and used that instead of the usual plain backing, seems to work lol The papers are Doodlebug and the other bits and bobs are from me stash.
There you have it girls, I'll look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations soon:)

challenges:
ABC - weather (I'm hoping this fits for summer)
All That Scraps - buttons and ribbons

Easter Treat take 2

Good morning girls
Just a quickie post to show you another little Easter treat box. I can't take credit for this one though as it's a cricut file that Cindy McVey kindly shared. All I'd to do was fire up my Design Studio, cut it with my cricut and decorate it.
It actualy took me longer to decorate than it did to make. Paper is from College Press Sugar Plum Series, it's a good heavy weight for boxes and holds it's shape well. I then cut some hinges from the Fabulous Finds cart at 1" and added some little pearls for screws, ran a piece of acetate through the cuttlebug before adding it to the inside of the lid and finished the top off with some matching prima flowers.

The image is a freebie from Karen's Doodles on Papercraft Planet which I coloured with prisma pencils, it's only small so there was no way I was attempting it with copics. Call me chicken!!!
There's even a little insert to hold all the egss in place, Cindy really took all the hard work out of this for us.
I'm also entering this into these challenges:
Simon Says - a splash of green
Incy Wincy - Easter or spring
Creative Inspirations - anything but a card
Our Creative Corner - think Easter

cruisin'

Hi girls
I just wanted to show you one of the latest images from Karens Doodles. This is cruisin'. How cool is this dude?

DP's are Basic Grey, coloured with copics and loads of Diamond Glaze although that's not showing too well on the pic. I've added some big brass buttons and some brads for a bit of depth and finished it off with the sentiment which I cut with my cricut.
I've managed a couple of challenges too:)

Friday Sketchers - sketch
Quixotic - one for the men

All White and Sparkly

but a terrible pic!!! Sorry about that girls but try as I might I just couldn't get a decent on of this. Probably due to the lack of colour, well that's me excuse and am sticking to it lol

The challenge on Colour Create this week was to use only white on your creation apart from your image, and what a challenge it was lol. Apart from taking the pic which was a challenge in itself I actually found this quite difficult. I love all white cards and thought it was time I had a little bash myself but let me tell you this is the first and most definitely the last!!!
First off I layered some matt white paper which I'd cut with my Martha Stewart punch onto some linen card. I then cut the nestie type shapes, rocking horse and stars with my cricut. Embossed some bits with the cuttlebug using the snowflakes and swiss dots folders. Once it was all assembled I added some lovely pale pink stickles to the mane, tail and saddle and a few sparkly gems to the top.
I think I may use this as a baby's first Christmas card, am not too sure yet whether or not a sentiment will spoil it. I'll need to have another little play I think.

1. Colour Create - all white
2. Simon Says - add a little sparkle
3. Paper Cutz - stars

A few challenges and a lovely new image

Good afternoon girls
It's gorgeous here, am loving this sunshine we're having here at the moment. It's actually warm enough to be outside without a jacket. Brilliant for this time of year here in Glasgow
I've made this card today to show off one of my forum buddies image. Lexi, is going to be trying her hand at some digi images in the very near future. So we set the challenge over on Hobbycrafters this week to use her image. I do hope you'll keep an eye on her blog for when she finally gets things off the ground:)

Papers are K & Co, image is coloured with sakura pens which has given it a lovely sheen, flowers are cut with my cricut and the little gems and brads of from my stash

1. Simon Says - sketch
2. Creative Card Crew - scallops

A first for me

Good morning girls
The sun is shining and it looks to be another beautiful day here. What a shame I'm working for a few hours this afternoon.

Do you like me bookmark? This is my first attempt at this sort of thing but the challenge this week over on Hobbycrafters was to make one and you know I never refuse a challenge lol.
Papers are Funky Fairy's, monogram I cut with cricut Mini Monograms cart and the ribbon and lace are from me stash. Not to bad for a first attempt me thinks
Girls if you've time please go look at my mate Georgies, she's did two, both parchment and both stunning. She doesn't do much blogging but I've encouraged her to put them on so I know she's love a comment or two. It might encourage her to show a wee bit more of her lovely work.

Football crazy

Morning bloggers
I hope your all enjoying this lovely weather we're having. It was glorious here yesterday so am hoping for some more of the same today.

This is yesterdays effort. I needed an 18th card for a footie mad soon to be 18 year old. Once again Mikey from Charmed Crafts came to the rescue, coloured with a mix of copics and pro markers. This is such a versatile set I seem to use it over and over again. The papers are DCVW Citrus pack, I know, again lol but I am loving these at the moment. Think I might have to buy some more.
Only one challenge with this one I'm afraid. The Cuttlebug Spot want us to use our favourite folder this week, so out came the Swiss Dots, this seems to be the one I use most, probably as it lines up so well, much better for a larger card.
Time to run, work beckons as usual. Have a good day girlies
hugs

the last one

Hi girls
How is everyone tonight? Warm and dry I hope, isn't this weather terrible. Where's all the lovely sunshine gone? It's hard to believe we're mid July these past few days.
This is the last of the six cards I'd to make for the same order. Thank goodness too, I was running out of ideas. Six cards for the one person is just tooooooooooo much lol
Anyway, I cut the little ice cream cornets with my cricut Doodlecharms cart, papers, well they've been in my stash forever and a day. I'm not even sure they're from the same company but they match well enough.
Only one challenge with this one. I've just not had time to check them all out this week, so am away now for a blog hop to see what tickles me fancy
Thanks for stopping by
Anne x
